KOTC awarded as top oil tankers’ operator in Mideast

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 22, (KUNA): Kuwait Oil Tankers Company (KOTC) declared on Tuesday that it has earned the award “the best oil tankers operator” in the Middle East and the Indian Sub-continent from the international Maritime Standard. Ali Shehab, the KOTC Deputy CEO, said in a statement to KUNA that the company was awarded with the prize during a ceremony recently held in Dubai.

It was the fifth time that the company earned the award since 2015 by the international organization, he said, noting that the company possesses a fleet that operates with top notch technology in maritime transport and best safety standards. The KOC is operated by well trained and skilled national cadres. The company, a subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, was established in 1957 as the first Gulf company specialized in transport of oil and natural gas.
