KOC moves forward to implement series of projects

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 8: The Kuwait Oil Company is moving forward to implement a series of projects aimed at sustaining the flow of crude oil from the Bahra oil field, reports Al-Qabas daily. According to informed oil sources, the Bahra field has new underground layers and additional capabilities to produce more than 100,000 barrels per day from the current 40 thousand barrels per day.

The sources added that new discoveries dispelled all the indications that indicated the possibility of depleting oil in the Bahra field. The plans of the Kuwait Oil Company and the modern technologies used in the exploration and drilling methods has watered down all the previous indications. The stressed that according to studies and technical surveys conducted in the region, the future production capacity of the field will be 100,000 barrels per day.

The sources stated that the results reached in the Bahra field will give the Kuwait Oil Company access to easy and low-cost reserves, which supports the company’s efforts to maintain its competitive advantage among countries and oil companies and indicated the company will drill new wells in the fields to enhance production. The sources stressed the ability of the oil sector to give in the darkest conditions, noting the fl exibility and clear commitment shown by the Kuwait Oil Company in carrying out exploration and development work, to ensure a bright future for the country
