KUWAIT CITY, Sept 13: In a move aimed at enhancing road discipline, security sources have informed Al-Seyassah daily that stringent directives have been issued to confiscate any vehicle that lacks proper metal number plates or operates on the roads with just one plate. These vehicles are subject to seizure, and appropriate actions are taken against their owners.

These sources have clarified that all patrols under the jurisdiction of public security, traffic enforcement, and rescue units will halt any vehicle found without metal plates or with only a single plate. They further emphasized that Article 207 of Executive Regulation No. 81 of 1976, under Traffic Law No. 67 of 1876, gives the authority to the security forces to impound any motor vehicle or car if driven on the road without plates, with only one plate, or if the plate is not legible, if there are obstructions to the driver’s vision, or if the vehicle is carrying plates not issued by the General Traffic Department.

Moreover, the General Traffic Department has called on motorists to verify the factory-installed tint percentage on their windows before adding additional tinting. It should be noted that the maximum permissible tint level is 70%, and it is strictly prohibited to tint the windshield, regardless of whether it is transparent or previously tinted.
