KUWAIT CITY, June 20: The General Directorate of the Kuwait National Guard (KNG) announced the opening of applications for a new intake of volunteers in the field of military musicians, reports Al-Seyassah daily. It specified several general application requirements, most notably that applicants must be Kuwaiti citizens, have completed at least grade 5, be at least 158 centimeters tall, and be between 18 and 26 years old. Applicants must also have good conduct and behavior and pass a personal interview and medical examination.
The requirements further state that applicants must not have been previously dismissed from any government entity by a final disciplinary ruling or decision, and must not have been convicted of a felony or a crime involving moral turpitude or dishonesty, unless they have been legally rehabilitated. Those with an eleventh-grade education or lower will be granted the rank of National Guard after completing a one-month military course and a two-month specialized music course.
Those holding a music diploma from the Higher Institute of Musical Arts will be granted the rank of Sergeant after completing a one-month military course and a four-month specialized music course. High school diploma holders will be granted the rank of Sergeant under the same conditions. Required documents include the original Kuwaiti citizenship certificate, original birth certificate, original valid civil ID card, original academic certificate authenticated and certified by the relevant authorities, original transcript, and several other official documents related to marital and employment status. Applications will be accepted from June 21 to July 2 at the Brigadier General Faisal Al-Juraid Building for Volunteer Reception in Riggae from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
