RIYADH, Oct 5: Saudi Arabia has begun procedures to regularize the status of Yemeni nationals residing in the Kingdom illegally, following directives from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in response to a request from Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Dr. Rashad Al-Alimi.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior said the regularization process is being carried out in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Human Resources and Social Development, as well as the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

The ministry said Yemeni nationals must have a valid Yemeni passport to benefit from the regularization process.

The start date and detailed regulations governing the procedures will be announced through the official accounts of the General Directorate of Passports and other relevant authorities, the ministry said.

Saudi authorities described the move as an extension of the Kingdom’s support for the Yemeni people and its longstanding fraternal ties with Yemen.

The announcement was issued on October 5, 2026.
