LOS ANGELES, Nov 4: Reality TV star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian revealed that she used ChatGPT to prepare for a law exam — but humorously blamed the artificial intelligence chatbot for her failure.
Speaking in a Vanity Fair lie detector test interview series, Kardashian, 45, opened up about her experience with the generative AI tool when asked by her All’s Fair co-star, Teyana Taylor, whether she used ChatGPT for life, dating, or friendly advice.
After denying using the chatbot for those purposes, Kardashian admitted she relied on it for “legal advice.”
“When I need to know the answer to a question, I’ll take a picture and snap it and put it in there,” Kardashian said. “It has made me fail tests … all the time. And then I’ll get mad and yell at it.”
Taylor, 34, quipped in response, “So she’s a frenemy?” to which Kardashian replied, “Yes, a frenemy. And then it’ll say back to me, ‘This is just teaching you to trust your own instincts. So you knew the answer all along.’”
Taylor joked, “So she clocked you,” and Kardashian laughed, “Clocked me.”
Taylor added, “So technically, you and ChatGPT are friends — just toxic friends,” and Kardashian agreed.
“But they need to do better,” Kardashian continued. “Because I’m leaning on them to really help me, and she is teaching me a life lesson and then becoming my therapist to tell me why I need to believe in myself after they got the answer wrong.”
She added that she often screenshots her exchanges with the chatbot and shares them with friends. “I screenshot all the time and send it in my group chat. Like, can you believe this bitch is talking to me like this? This is insane,” she said.
Kardashian has been studying law since 2019 as part of a four-year apprenticeship program, having passed California’s “baby bar” exam in 2021.
