Kidnap bid on young Canadian woman foiled by bystanders

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 14: A 28-yearold Canadian woman escaped from a kidnapping attempt by an unidentified person, believed to be a Kuwaiti, reports Al-Rai daily. In her complaint to the Maidan Hawalli Police Station, where the incident took place, the woman said she was standing in front of her building and the suspect got down from his vehicle, walked up to her and grabbed her, pulled out a knife and tried to intimidate her to get in his vehicle. As a result she suffered abrasions on her hands and shoulder.

She screamed for help and when the bystanders went to her rescue, the man got in his vehicle and escaped. Personnel from the Personnel from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) are looking for the suspect based on the description of the car and the suspect given by the woman
