‘Kidnap attempted’; Protest for salary

KUWAIT CITY, June 8: A Kuwaiti citizen accused a man in his 20s of threatening and kidnapping his 13-year old son following a traffic accident in Umm Al-Haiman area, says Al-Seyassah. According to security sources, the citizen explained to securitymen of Umm Al-Haiman Police Station about the incident, stressing that the suspect threatened his son and insisted the latter repaired his car. He revealed that his son took his car without his knowledge. Securitymen launched investigations to find and arrest the suspect.

Protest for salary: Securitymen Thursday dispersed a crowd of 50 laborers who were seen demonstrating on Abdali Road at Kilo 43 to protest the nonpayment of their delayed salaries which their employer had promised to pay, says Al-Seyassah. According to a security source, when the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior received the report about the workers’ strike along Abdali Road, a security team was immediately dispatched to the location. The workers explained to securitymen that they have not been paid salaries for months despite repeated promises by the company. The securitymen dispersed the protesting workers.
