KUWAIT CITY, Dec 2: Khataf Al-Nawader, owned by Mohammed Naif Al-Maimouni and trained by Mohammed Al-Maimouni with jockey Hadi Al-Omar, seized the Al-Rihab Stud Cup, presented by breeder Sulaiman Mohammed Al-Qanai. The Egyptian Arabian horse won the fifth race — a 1,000-meter mixed category event — clocking 1:15.13 minutes during the Hunting and Equestrian Club’s fourth race meeting.
The trophy was awarded to the Al-Maimouni stable by Sheikh Sabah Fahad Al-Nasser, Chairman of the Supreme Committee and Secretary-General of the Club, alongside Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Raya Stud, and Sulaiman Al-Qanai, owner of Al-Rihab Stud. Sheikh Sabah also presented a commemorative shield to Al-Qanai.
Al-Qanai reaffirmed his commitment to supporting horse racing at the Club, emphasising that the rise in private studs has played a key role in preserving the region’s rich Arab and Islamic equestrian heritage.
Sheikh Sabah praised horse owners for their continued support of the sport, noting the strong competition among several contenders battling for the top places.
Meanwhile, Mabrouk (Al-Faraj) captured the Hunting and Equestrian Club Cup over 1,000 meters, while Al-Albani (Al-Daiya) claimed the Club Cup for mixed horses over 2,200 meters.
In earlier races, Mudar, Masha Allah, Sa’adna, and Aws secured the Hunting and Equestrian Club Trophy from the first through fourth races, respectively.
