TEHRAN, Apr 10: Kamal Kharrazi, head of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations, has died from injuries sustained in an airstrike on his home in Tehran earlier this month, according to Iranian media reports.
The strike, which occurred on April 1, had initially left Kharrazi seriously wounded and killed his wife at the scene.
Kharrazi, who previously served as Iran’s foreign minister and was a senior adviser to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was considered a key figure in Iran’s foreign policy establishment.
His death comes amid escalating regional tensions and continued airstrikes targeting Iranian infrastructure and senior figures, marking a significant development in the ongoing conflict.
