KUWAIT CITY, July 30: The “Mowasalat” (KGL) Company is preparing to resume its public transportation services as Kuwait enters the advanced stages of the plan for the gradual return to normal life, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a press statement, the Chief Operating Officer of Mowasalat Company Abdullah Al-Nasser said the company has started preparing for the resumption of public transportation following the suspension of its services for more than four months due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

He explained that, “The company has adopted all health precautionary measures, starting with the driver. We have placed a barrier between the driver and the passengers. The passenger can take his ticket automatically without the need to communicate with the driver.

The Mowasalat buses take into account the need for maintaining the recommended distance between the seats designated for passengers. There are clear instructions specified on the floor of the bus, and the seats to be used by passengers will be highlighted with the aim of implementing physical distancing.

Through coordination with the International Transport Union concerning the issued instructions, it was agreed that the capacity to be utilized inside a bus will not exceed 30 percent.”

Al-Nasser revealed about the major sterilization process being carried out for the buses, indicating that the buses will be sterilized after each trip, and a device will be used to measure the temperature of passengers before they board the bus.
