KUWAIT CITY, Nov 27: Under the patronage of Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) marked 25 years of its executive program partnership with Harvard Kennedy School.
The celebration, held on Thursday at the Scientific Center, brought together senior leaders, government officials, private sector decision-makers, program alumni, and an academic delegation, providing a platform for dialogue, networking, and exchange of strategic experiences.
In his address, the Prime Minister lauded KFAS as a national hub for research, innovation, and capacity building. He described the partnership with Harvard Kennedy School as a strategic investment in Kuwaiti human capital, equipping leaders with modern tools in leadership, decision-making, and public policy analysis to respond to global transformations in economics, governance, and emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
KFAS highlighted its broader international academic network, which includes London Business School, the National University of Singapore, Wharton, the University of Cambridge, London School of Economics (LSE), and the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT) Berlin. These partnerships have contributed to knowledge transfer, capacity development, and benefiting more than 1,530 participants.
The foundation noted that the “Kuwait at Harvard Program,” launched in 2000, has graduated 770 participants, 450 of whom now occupy leadership positions in public and private sectors. The program also fosters joint research, academic exchanges, fellowships, and specialized training opportunities with Harvard scholars, enhancing Kuwait’s role in knowledge production and application.
KFAS reaffirmed its commitment to expanding the partnership with Harvard Kennedy School, supporting Kuwait’s vision of a diversified knowledge-based economy, and strengthening its regional and international scientific presence under the guidance of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
