KUWAIT CITY, May 17: The Collective Solidarity Fund for Members of Medical Professional Associations held its first meeting for the 28th session of 2026, following the ordinary general assembly, which approved the administrative and financial reports. During the meeting, Ahmad Al-Shatti was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors, Waleed Al-Basri as Vice Chairman, Hossam El- Din Abdel-Fattah as Secretary, Jaber Al-Khaldi as Treasurer and Waleed Al-Harbi as Assistant Treasurer.

The Board consists of Ayman Khalil, Khaled Saleh, Hassan Khaja, Mohamed Alaa Attia, Osama Hakim and representatives of medical professional associations -- five doctors from the Kuwait Medical Association, two from the Kuwait Pharmaceutical Association, two dentists, and one veterinarian. After the meeting, Al-Shatti stated that the fund aims to strengthen cooperation and solidarity among members of the medical professional associations, and provide social care for members and their families, particularly in case of death, professional disability or retirement from service in the public and private sectors.

He pointed out that for more than five decades, the fund has been committed to meeting its financial obligations to the members, indicating that the total payments exceeded KD3 million. He added that the Board of Directors, which is elected every two years, is in charge of setting policies and reviewing the recommendations to achieve a balance between financial obligations and the entry of new members.
