KUWAIT CITY, Jul 27: Kuwait’s Misdemeanor Court has fined four employees of a government institution, including two Kuwaiti nationals and two Egyptians, and ordered their dismissal from service after finding them responsible for causing damage to public funds amounting to more than KD383,000 due to negligence in contract oversight.

The court imposed fines ranging between KD5,000 and KD20,000 on the four employees after ruling that their failure to properly verify the feasibility of contracts, monitor implementation, and ensure compliance with contract clauses and purchase orders contributed to the financial loss.

The employees were accused of neglecting their duties related to reviewing agreements with companies and failing to take the necessary measures to follow up on the execution and activation of contractual obligations.

In addition to the financial penalties, the court ordered the defendants’ removal from their government positions.
