KUWAIT CITY – Kuwait's second Court of Appeal has upheld a 15-year prison sentence against a Kuwaiti citizen convicted of causing the death of a grocery store worker after fleeing without paying for purchases worth just two dinars.
According to court proceedings, the incident occurred at a grocery store in the Al-Mutlaa area when the defendant attempted to leave without paying for items valued at KD2. As the store employee tried to stop him, the man drove away, dragging the victim for approximately 30 meters before the worker sustained fatal injuries.
Investigations conducted after the incident resulted in the arrest of the accused, who was found to have previous convictions related to drug and theft cases.
The Court of Appeal confirmed the original ruling, maintaining the 15-year imprisonment sentence for the fatal attack.
