The campaign helped settle the debts of 2,635 citizens, following the transfer of the final installment of donations to the General Department for Sentences Enforcement of the Ministry of Justice to complete the legal procedures and clear the outstanding debts of the citizens covered by the campaign. In a press statement, Dr. Al-Ajmi explained that the third campaign exceeded the achievements of the first two campaigns in both the total amount collected and the number of cases processed and debts settled.
It reflects the integration of governmental and community efforts, and demonstrates Kuwait’s established humanitarian approach to supporting citizens in need while strengthening the social protection system. The campaign resulted in the closure of 4,345 enforcement cases at the Ministry of Justice, which helped to ease the legal and financial burdens on many Kuwaiti families and restore their social and psychological stability. Dr Al-Ajmi revealed that the disbursement was carried out through a structured mechanism across six installments, covering debts up to a maximum of KD 16,500, with amounts ranging from KD 5,000 to KD 10,000, KD 15,000, KD 16,000, and KD 16,500. He detailed the distribution of cases across the installments as follows:
- 425 cases in the first installment
- 767 in the second
- 620 in the third
- 480 in the fourth
- 286 in the fifth
- 57 in the sixth
Dr. Al-Ajmi noted that the total number of applications submitted to benefit from the campaign exceeded 9,000. Cases previously included in the first two campaigns were excluded, as were applications involving debt acknowledgments, debts owed to telecommunications companies, and debts owed to government entities. He confirmed that the applications were reviewed and evaluated by six specialized technical and legal committees, with participation from representatives of the Ministry of Justice’s General Department for Sentences Enforcement, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, the General Awqaf Secretariat, the Zakat House, and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
Dr. Al-Ajmi expressed his gratitude to the political leadership for its continued support and care for citizens facing financial difficulties, and he commended the Council of Ministers for its significant backing of this humanitarian initiative. He praised the guidance and support of the Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, highlighting her continuous dedication and direct oversight of the campaign, which ensured high-quality performance, precise procedures, and a faster completion pace.
Dr. Al-Ajmi expressed his deepest gratitude and appreciation to the major donors and supporters of the third national campaign to settle the debts of debtors, including Kuwait Finance House, Zakat House, Kuwait Red Crescent Society, the Endowment of the Heirs of Issa Abdullah Al-Othman, the General Awqaf Secretariat, various cooperative and charitable societies, foundations, individuals, and all others who contributed to supporting this national humanitarian project.
