43 govt agencies to implement projects through 9 major programs

KUWAIT CITY, May 8: The annual development plan for Kuwait for the current fiscal year 2021/2022 reveals that the state is targeting the implementation of 132 projects worth KD 1.8 billion. These projects will be implemented by 43 government agencies through nine major programs. For the success of the annual plan’s components, 29 legislative requirements and 35 targeted policies should be implemented, reports Al-Anba daily.

The detailed development plan for the 2021/2022 fiscal year highlights the fact that the annual plan programs include building a special international economic zone. The estimated cost has not yet been determined, but it has a legislative requirement. The second program is related to general privatization which requires two new legislation through the implementation of seven projects. Its cost has also not yet been determined. As for the third program, which is aimed at strengthening the private sector, it will take place through 13 projects worth KD 206.9 million.

This would require two new legislation. The fourth program is aimed to strengthen the capacities of citizens and institutions through 12 projects which would cost a sum of about KD 166.1 million. The fifth program, which is estimated to cost KD 39.1 million, will target the development of a coherent and transparent governance through 16 projects. The sixth program, which aims to build a coherent infrastructure, will be implemented through 41 projects worth one billion dinars. The seventh program, which is worth KD 18.3 million, is aimed to create environmentally friendly residential areas. The eighth program is aimed to enhance the health and well-being of all. It will be implemented through 22 projects of an estimated value of KD 306.7 million. The ninth program, which concerns effective participation in the global community, has an estimated cost of KD 4.9 million.
