KD 3,000 threshold triggers declaration

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 1: The General Administration of Customs (GAC) has reiterated its call for travelers to declare funds, whether in cash or bearer negotiable financial instruments, if the value amounts to KD 3,000 or more, or the equivalent in foreign currencies. In an awareness post on its X account, GAC explained that anyone entering or leaving Kuwait while carrying such funds or instruments must declare their value to GAC. Failure to make the required declaration subjects the violator to legal accountability in accordance with Law No. 106/2013 and Minister of Finance Resolution No. 37/2013. Customs declarations can be submitted electronically through its website under “Electronic Services” or via the Sahel app by selecting the “Electronic Declaration of Funds” service under the General Administration of Customs’ services.
