KUWAIT CITY, Aug 29: A burglary investigation is underway in Hawally after gold jewelry worth approximately KD 20,000 was reported stolen from the home of a Kuwaiti doctor, with forensic experts examining the residence for fingerprints and other clues that could help identify the thieves.

According to a security source, the Ministry of Interior’s operations room received a report about a break-in at the doctor’s house. When police arrived, the woman told officers that she had returned home after work to discover that the gold jewelry kept in her bedroom had disappeared. She told investigators that most of the stolen pieces were gold, which she had accumulated as a form of savings, particularly amid the continued rise in gold prices.

The doctor did not accuse any particular person of the theft, leaving investigators to determine who may have been behind the burglary. A forensic team was dispatched to the residence to carefully examine the scene, collect fingerprints and search for any other evidence that the perpetrators may have left behind.

Meanwhile, detectives launched their own investigation, gathering information about the circumstances surrounding the burglary and reviewing surveillance camera recordings from the area. Investigators are also examining the victim’s circle of associates and employees as they work to establish whether anyone had access to information about the home or the valuables kept inside.

The victim did not specify whether the jewelry had been stored inside a safe or elsewhere in the bedroom, a detail that investigators will seek to establish as part of their reconstruction of the incident.

Security personnel are continuing to review available evidence and narrow the list of potential suspects. Investigators hope that surveillance footage, forensic evidence and information gathered during the inquiry will help identify those responsible, recover the stolen jewelry and bring the case to a close.
