KUWAIT CITY, Sept 18: In a supportive move to assist the Al-Jahra Club basketball teams, which have been struggling with an administrative crisis and a three-way management conflict for nearly nine months, the Kuwait Basketball Association Board of Directors has decided to reinstate the Al-Jahra basketball teams across all age groups. This includes the Under-15, Under-17, Under-19, and the senior team for the 2024-2025 sports season. This decision was made during the Board's meeting.

Additionally, the Basketball Association has introduced an initiative to support all basketball teams at Al-Jahra Club. This initiative encompasses the provision of necessary player and technical equipment, including sportswear for training and matches, basketballs, and other essential items for daily training. The goal is to ensure effective participation in the approved age groups and to support any future clubs that might face similar challenges.

A specialized committee from the Association will begin working with the Al-Jahra Club to ensure that all requirements are met before the start of the 2024-2025 season.

The decision to re-establish the Al-Jahra Club teams was based on Article (69) of the Kuwait Basketball Association's bylaws, which addresses "Unexpected Events and Force Majeure."

Dhari Burjas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Basketball Federation, emphasized that this decision and initiative were made out of a sense of duty and sporting responsibility. He stated, “We aim to enable players to continue enjoying their sport and to support Al-Jahra Club's return to full participation. We hope for a swift resolution to their issues and a successful season for all teams in the Federation’s competitions.”
