Kazma secures fourth Futsal Super Cup in a thrilling showdown

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 28: In a gripping showdown at the Kuwait Club Hall, Kazma Club clinched the Futsal Super Cup Championship for the 2023-2024 sports season, marking its fourth title in history. The intense match saw Kazma emerge victorious with a 4-3 win over Kuwait Club counterpart.Hayef Al-Mutairi, Vice President of the Football Association, and Salah Al-Qenaei, Secretary-General of the Federation, bestowed the championship cup upon Kazma and honored Kuwait Club as the worthy runner-up.

This historic 13th edition of the championship featured an exhilarating match that captivated the audience, showcasing the high level of play expected in a final. Kazma took an early lead in the first half with goals from Chris and Saleh Al-Fadhel, while Abdul-Rahman Al-Taweel scored Kuwait Club’s  first goal.The second half saw Kazma extend its lead with a third goal by Manshel, but Kuwait Club fought back, narrowing the gap with two goals from Abdul Rahman Al-Taweel and Abdulaziz Burashid. In the end, Chris secured the title for Kazma with the fourth goal.

Kuwait Club, Al-Qadisiya , and Yarmouk clubs, each having won the title three times.David Marin, the futsal coach of Kazma Club, expressed his joy at the victory, acknowledging the tough competition from a formidable opponent. Marin highlighted the team’s focus and determination in securing the title, especially when the score was tied at 3-3 minutes before the end of normal time.

Looking ahead to the league championship, Marin emphasized the team’s commitment and efficient preparations. He noted that the journey is long, with knockout rounds scheduled for May, leaving all options open to vie for more titles in the ongoing season.
