KUWAIT CITY, Oct 20: The 2025–2026 volleyball league resumed after being suspended since early last month amid developments in the Gulf, with two matches played in the Premier League and First Division.
In the Premier League, Kazma marked its return with a convincing 3–0 victory over Qadsia, sending a strong message about its ambitions following the lengthy interruption. In the First Division, Al-Nasr overcame Al-Sahel 3–2 in a closely contested encounter that went the distance to a deciding set.
Premier League action continues tomorrow, Thursday, with Kazma taking on Sulaibikhat at 5 pm, followed by Qadsia’s clash with Al-Arabi at 7 pm. Both matches will be held at the Kuwait Volleyball Association Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Indoor Sports Complex.
The First Division resumes Sunday with two fixtures at the same venue. Al-Shabab meet Al-Sahel, while Al-Yarmouk face Al-Nasr.
Meanwhile, the Kuwait Volleyball Association’s Competitions Committee is working to complete the remaining fixtures of the interrupted 2025–2026 season while preparing for the 2026–2027 campaign.
Committee chairman Aref Al-Subaihi said preparations were progressing rapidly to conclude the previous season’s competitions and ensure the new season gets underway in an organized manner. He added that all committees were ready to carry out their duties, with support from the association’s board of directors.
Al-Subaihi stressed that the committee was focused on providing the conditions needed for successful domestic competitions and ensuring matches are organized to a high standard. He expressed hope that the upcoming schedule would deliver a competitive season, make up for the disruption, and help clubs and players return to action in the best possible condition.
