Kazma intensifies preparations for the new handball season

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 7: Kazma’s handball team is stepping up preparations for the 2026-27 season while completing the remaining fixtures from the previous campaign, which was suspended due to the circumstances in the Gulf region.

Kazma treasurer and head of the handball department, Omar Al-Mulla, said the first team is maintaining an intensive daily training program under new French coach Slavisa Ristavac, who is focusing on improving the players’ physical, technical, and tactical readiness.

The “Orange” has so far played one friendly, defeating Khaitan 27-20. More warm-up matches are scheduled in the coming period as part of the team’s build-up to the new season.

Al-Mulla said Kazma aims to remain a strong contender for domestic honors, adding that the upcoming campaign could be among the most competitive given the club’s serious preparations.

He also highlighted the club’s efforts to strengthen the squad, with Tunisian professional Anwar Ben Abdullah renewing his contract. Kazma has also signed Brazilian Leonardo Dutra and German Christian Dasinger.

The new arrivals are expected to add quality and depth to the squad and boost Kazma’s chances of competing for domestic titles.

Al-Mulla said the administrative and technical staff are working together to ensure the team is fully prepared, expressing hope that the players will deliver results that satisfy the club’s supporters.
