KUWAIT CITY, Oct 5: Kazma handball team has moved up to second place in the Premier League after a 32-27 victory over Al-Nasr in the final matches of the first phase, held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex Hall. In the same round, Kuwait defeated Burgan 34-28.
The standings at the end of the first phase of the Premier Handball League are:
Kuwait Club– 14 points (perfect record)
Kazma – 9 points
Burgan – 8 points
Qadsia, Al-Arabi, Salmiya – 6 points each
Al-Sulaibikhat – 5 points
Al-Nasr – 2 points
The second phase of the Premier League kicks off tomorrow, Tuesday, with two matches: Al-Nasr vs. Kuwait and Qadsia vs. Burgan. The league consists of three phases, and the team with the highest points at the end will claim the 58th title in the history of the competition.
Meanwhile, in the First Division handball league, the fifth-round matches are scheduled for today:
Al-Fahaheel vs. Al-Sahel at 4:30 PM
Khaitan vs. Al-Qurain at 6:00 PM
Youth National Team vs. Al-Yarmouk at 7:30 PM
The current First Division standings are:
Khaitan – 8 points
Al-Yarmouk – 6 points
Al-Qurain – 4 points
Youth National Team – 3 points
Al-Fahaheel – 1 point
