LONDON, Jan 25, (Agencies): As Kate Middleton undergoes recovery following abdominal surgery, there is a strong belief in her resilience.
"There is a seriousness to the length of time [she's taking], but she is in excellent hands, receiving ample care and support at home. She is a fit young woman, and I am confident she will bounce back," says a source close to the royal household.
The 42-year-old Princess of Wales is on a journey of extended recovery after undergoing "planned abdominal surgery" at the private London Clinic on Jan 16. The announcement came from Kensington Palace the following day, revealing that Princess Kate would be hospitalized for "10 to 14 days before returning home to continue her recovery." It was also noted that her return to public duties would be unlikely until after Easter.
While the palace has not disclosed the nature of her condition, they have assured the public that it is noncancerous. A former patient who experienced abdominal surgery at the London Clinic spoke positively about the care provided, mentioning the excellence of the physical therapists and the need for patience and courage during the recovery process.
Planned visits to Rome and an overseas military base have been postponed, with foreign travel deferred in the coming months. Back home at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, Princess Kate will have the necessary space and privacy for healing. She can rely on the support of her husband, Prince William, and her close-knit family during this period.
