LONDON, Nov 16: The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, has shared a rare personal message in the third installment of her “Mother Nature” video series, emphasizing the beauty of change and the importance of letting go.
The 43-year-old royal provided a voiceover for the new video, titled “Autumn,” which was posted on her social media accounts Saturday, Nov. 15. The series, which Kate launched earlier this year, encourages reflection and connection with nature.
“As the days grow shorter and the shadows grow longer, the energy of summer withdraws into autumn. This is the season for reflection and refinement,” Kate begins in the video, which features her walking in a forest alongside chef Gill Meller.
The video transitions between clips of fall foliage, sweeping landscapes, and Kate cooking outdoors with Meller and several children. “Trees shed their canopies in preparation for winter, just as we too learn to let go of what is no longer needed,” she says.
Kate continued, “Through greater awareness of our inner and outer worlds, we can find clarity and purpose in what matters most… Mother Nature teaches us there's beauty to be found in change, impermanence, and in letting go. These are the natural cycles of life.”
The video concludes with the princess urging resilience and hope: “Whilst the blossoms fall and the colors fade, the roots grow deeper, stronger. Let love be the root that holds us, the light that guides us, with hope through change. Endure.”
In the post’s caption, Kate wrote, “Autumn — a season of reflection, growth and deeper connection. Embrace the beauty found in change, as we prepare for winter’s rest,” signing off with her first initial, “C.”
This installment follows the summer edition of the series posted in August and the inaugural video in May, which marked the transition from winter to spring and Mental Health Awareness Week in the United Kingdom. Kate has previously spoken about nature’s role in supporting her mental health during her cancer treatment in 2024.
The new video comes a week after Middleton attended the annual Remembrance Day service at the Cenotaph in London on Nov. 9, a year after completing chemotherapy. The royal family has recently settled into their “forever home,” Forest Lodge in Windsor, where they plan to remain even after Prince William ascends to the throne.
