The Kuwait Association for Learning Differences launches an awareness campaign on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) at The Avenues.

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 28: The Kuwait Association for Learning Differences (KALD) on Monday launched an awareness campaign on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at The Avenues Mall, coinciding with World ADHD Awareness Month. The campaign will run until October 30.

Founder and Chairperson Amal Al-Sayer told KUNA that the initiative aims to raise community understanding of ADHD, highlight its significance, and address the needs of those living with the condition. She stressed that ADHD is not merely disruptive behavior or hyperactivity, but a neurological disorder that affects thinking, organization, and daily functioning, requiring support from families, schools, and society.

Al-Sayer said KALD views awareness as the first step toward acceptance and positive change, emphasizing that every child possesses unique abilities that deserve recognition and development. Through the campaign, the association seeks to promote a culture of understanding, sending the message that ADHD does not limit potential but calls for a supportive environment and genuine understanding to help individuals succeed.

The association also focuses on providing training and educational programs for parents, teachers, and specialists to equip them with the skills to support children with learning differences responsibly. Al-Sayer underlined the importance of building inclusive educational environments to enable children with ADHD to reach their full potential and contribute meaningfully to society.

She concluded by urging the public to participate in the campaign to make a tangible difference in the lives of children and families affected by ADHD.
