GURI, South Korea, Nov 16: South Korean actress and K-pop singer Nana, real name Im Jin-ah, fought off an armed intruder at her home in Guri alongside her mother, local media reported Sunday.
A man in his 30s reportedly broke into Nana’s residence, wielding a weapon, and threatened both women. According to Nana’s agency, the 34-year-old singer and her mother managed to restrain the intruder until police arrived.
Yonhap news agency reported that Nana’s mother lost consciousness during the altercation, and both women required medical attention.
A local detective told AFP the suspect, who attempted to steal valuables, has been detained on charges of aggravated robbery. Authorities said he also received medical treatment following the incident.
Nana, who debuted in 2009 with the K-pop girl group After School, has transitioned to acting over the past decade. She has starred in several television series, including the 2019 crime dramas Kill It and Justice.
The incident has drawn attention across South Korean media, highlighting the star’s quick response in subduing the intruder and ensuring the safety of herself and her mother.
