KUWAIT CITY, Nov 3: Undersecretary of Ministry of Interior Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad has issued an administrative circular for the officers of General Traffic Department, instructing them not to remove the number plates of vehicles belonging to university students who park at wrong places in their campuses and some hospitals.

This decision is aimed to show consideration for the situation of citizens and expatriates in some locations that lack sufficient parking areas. It was in response to some serious problems that arose from the removal of number plates of some cars earlier this week.

The leadership of students’ union at Kuwait University responded promptly to the incident, because there is insufficient space for them and it could degenerate to bigger problems.

This decision was received with jubilation among citizens and expatriates.

 

Fake broker held: Personnel from the Hawally Investigation Department have arrested a jobless 34-year-old ‘real-estate’ Kuwaiti broker for fraud and swindling scores of Kuwaitis and expatriates, reports Al-Rai daily.

The arrest came after the victims filed cases against the suspect who pretended to work for a real estate firm as a broker and sold property and apartments which do not exist for low prices.

The ploy was to take part money in advance and escape. The suspect has been referred to the concerned authorities.

Satanic rituals: The Hawally securitymen have arrested six people including a 40-year-old Kuwaiti for practicing satanic rituals in an apartment in Hawalli, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The arrest came after one of the residents of the building tipped the Operations Room of the Interior Ministry because he was annoyed by the noise and all sorts of noise and burning of incense amid shouts and screams.

Armed with a search and arrest warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, police raided the apartment and arrested the men.

All those arrested were reportedly abnormal at the time of arrest. They have been referred to the concerned authorities.

Wanted man caught: The Abu Halifa police have arrested a 30-year-old Kuwaiti who had been sentenced in absentia for luring his victims to join his business ventures, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to the source, the suspect was caught by a night patrol Abu Halifa. When the police demanded to see his ID, he said he did not carry it and that he left it in the house, but when he was taken to a police station they discovered he was wanted to serve a jail term.

Indian with abortion pills: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested an Indian for possessing 21 pills used for inducing abortion, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The daily added the Indian was caught on suspicion because when a security patrol in Sabah Al-Salem asked him for his civil ID, he looked confused following which police searched his car and seized the pills.

The contraband and the Indian have been referred to the authorities.

Fake police beaten: An unidentified Bedoun police impersonator was beaten and handed over to police after he allegedly entered a shop in the Shuwaikh Industrial Area and attempted to steal a computer and KD 50 cash, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily did not give more details.

Drugs with Asian: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested an Asian man for possessing drugs, reports Al-Shahed daily.

The Asian was caught on suspicion because when he saw a police patrol, he tried to change direction and avoid eye contact with police.

On checking records, police discovered the man was a violator of residence law. Police searched his car and seized four sachets of marijuana.

Light shed on drugs, cybercrimes : Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khalid Al-Sabah affirmed that the security institution will exert efforts to interact closely with male and female students in order to spread awareness among them about the dangers of illicit drugs, cybercrimes and environment degradation, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The minister declared this recently during a visit to an awareness exhibition organized by the ministry’s General Department of Public Relations and Media Security for two consecutive weeks inside Nawaf Al-Ahmad Building. He was accompanied to the event by the Undersecretary Lieutenant General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad, Special Adviser to the minister retired Lieutenant General Ahmad Al-Khalifa and several other senior ministry officials.

Sheikh Mohammad declared that the achievement accomplished in the Nawaf Al-Ahmad Building, which will later be extended to exhibitions outside, exemplifies the support that the security institution gives to the General Department of Public Relations and Media Security for protecting this age group.

He insisted that their protection will be fruitful in the near future, and urged schools and parents to support such awareness efforts.
