JORDAN’S KING ARRIVES IN KUWAIT … APPRECIATES SUPPORT

Jordan’s King Abdullah II being received by HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah upon the former’s arrival in Kuwait for a visit.

KUWAIT CITY, June 12, (KUNA): His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah received King Abdullah II and his accompanying delegation at Dasman Palace on Tuesday. His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah attended the audience.

The Kuwaiti and Jordanian leaders held cordial talks on the historic relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, means of boosting these ties, noting necessity of coordination between the two countries on issues of common interest.

The audience was also attended by National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Ali Al-Ghanim, senior sheikhs, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and ranking state officials. Meanwhile, King Abdullah II earlier on Monday highly appreciated the support offered by Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE to help his country overcome the hard economic conditions it is going through.

King Abdullah II tweeted that he highly appreciates the honorable stance of “brothers in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE, with the good initiative of my brother King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz towards our country amid the challenges it is facing.” His Highness the Amir later held an Iftar (fast-breaking) banquet at Dasman Palace in honor of his brother King Abdullah II and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of his brotherly visit to Kuwait.

The Monarch and his entourage arrived earlier at Kuwait International Airport, where they were welcomed by His Highness the Amir, Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim and His Highness the Prime Minister. Jordan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi and Chairman of Jordan’s Joint Chiefs Mahmoud Abdul-Halim Freihat accompanied King Abdullah II.
