Jordan suspends residency of an Iranian diplomat and denies accreditation of another

AMMAN, March 25: Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi said Wednesday that recent measures taken against Iranian diplomats send a “clear message” rejecting Tehran’s attacks on neighboring countries.

Speaking to state-owned Al-Mamlaka TV, Al-Safadi revealed that Iran has launched dozens of missiles and drones toward Jordan during the ongoing conflict, underscoring the growing regional threat.

Several countries in the region, including Saudi Arabia and Lebanon, have already declared Iranian diplomats persona non grata in response to the attacks.

Al-Safadi also rejected Iran’s claims that its actions are justified by the presence of foreign military bases, stressing that Jordan does not host such bases. He clarified that the country only hosts forces from “allied and friendly nations” for defense cooperation and training purposes.

The remarks reflect rising regional tensions as countries push back against Iran’s military actions and diplomatic posture.
