AMMAN, Jul 28: Jordan’s air force intercepted and destroyed a drone that entered the country’s airspace early Tuesday, the military said.

The Jordanian Armed Forces said the drone was brought down in the country’s eastern desert in accordance with established rules of engagement.

The military did not disclose the origin of the drone or provide details on its type, flight path or whether it posed an immediate threat.

The incident comes as regional tensions remain elevated, with Jordan maintaining heightened security measures to protect its airspace against potential threats, including unmanned aerial systems.

Jordan has previously intercepted drones and missiles crossing its territory amid growing regional instability, particularly linked to conflicts and military activity in the wider Middle East. The latest incident is under review by authorities.
