Jordan Intercepts Four Iranian Missiles, Two Others Fall in Uninhabited Areas

AMMAN, Jul 22: Jordan's armed forces said on Wednesday that the country's air defence systems intercepted four of six missiles launched from Iran after they entered Jordanian airspace.

A military source from the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army said the missiles were detected as they approached the Kingdom, prompting an immediate response from air defence units.

According to the military, four missiles were successfully intercepted and destroyed, while the remaining two fell in remote, uninhabited areas without causing any casualties or property damage.

The source said teams from the Royal Engineering Corps were dispatched to the impact sites and locations where missile debris landed following the interception operations.

The teams secured the areas and safely handled the missile remnants in accordance with established technical and security procedures.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions as military exchanges between Iran and the United States continue to raise security concerns across the Middle East.
