AMMAN, July 27: Jordan’s armed forces intercepted and shot down two drones on Monday morning, the military said, with no casualties or material damage reported.
The Jordan Armed Forces said air defence units detected and neutralized the unmanned aircraft before they could cause any harm. The military did not disclose the origin of the drones or identify those responsible for launching them.
The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, with drones increasingly being used by Iran backed militia. Jordan has repeatedly warned of security threats linked to unauthorized drone activity near its territory and strategic locations.
Authorities said investigations are continuing to determine the source and purpose of the drones.
