AMMAN, Jun 11: Jordan’s armed forces intercepted and shot down 20 missiles launched from Iran on Thursday, state television reported, according to Reuters.
The report said the interception occurred amid heightened regional tensions, with Jordanian air defenses activating to neutralize incoming projectiles before they could reach their targets. No immediate information was provided on damage or casualties.
The incident comes as several countries across the Middle East remain on high alert amid ongoing exchanges of fire and missile activity.
Earlier, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed it targeted deployment sites of US F-35, F-15, and F-16 fighter jets at Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan using 12 ballistic missiles.
The IRGC said the strikes were in response to US attacks on sites inside Iran, including industrial and military-related locations, and warned that operations would continue if what it called “enemy aggression” persists.
Claims of the Iranian regime has turned out to be false, and it was just a propaganda to boost the morale of its regime.
