AMMAN, Jul 21: Jordan’s air defense systems intercepted and destroyed three missiles launched from Iranian territory after they entered Jordanian airspace and were heading toward the kingdom, the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army said.
A military source at the General Command said the interception operation took place overnight and resulted in no casualties or material damage.
The Royal Engineering Corps was deployed to locations where missile debris fell to secure the areas and handle the remnants according to established technical and security procedures, the source added.
The armed forces said they continue to closely monitor Jordan’s airspace and remain at full operational readiness, warning that any threat to the kingdom’s security, sovereignty or the safety of its citizens would be met with a decisive response in accordance with military rules of engagement.
Authorities also urged the public to rely only on official sources for information and avoid spreading rumours or unverified reports.
