LOS ANGELES, Feb 13, (Agencies): Jon Stewart has reclaimed the host’s chair on The Daily Show, marking his comeback to the iconic late-night news comedy series nearly a decade after departing and making way for Trevor Noah.

Following Trevor Noah’s departure in late 2022, The Daily Show embarked on a quest for a new host, featuring a rotation of various potential talents in the anchor’s seat. However, after a year of experimenting with guest hosts, the show ultimately returned to its original creator, Jon Stewart.

Stewart took his place behind the desk on Monday for his much-anticipated return, greeted by a resounding round of cheers and applause. Playfully, he quipped, “Now where was I?”

Humorously addressing his return, Stewart remarked, “I have committed a lot of times, and from what I understand, talk show hosts are granted immunity.” After light banter about the Super Bowl and teasing right-wing conspiracy theories, Stewart delved into the main topic of the night – the 2024 presidential election, offering insights into US President Joe Biden and former president Donald Trump.

Stewart’s seasoned expertise in political satire was evident, seamlessly slipping back into his old rhythm as he skillfully navigated the politically charged episode with a perfect blend of humor and gravitas.
