KUWAIT CITY, Sept 28: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has confirmed the continuation of the recruitment of children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis, provided there is no Kuwaiti candidate for the vacant post. In a press statement, CSC clarified that the recruitment of the children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis is based on Decree No. 16/2017, stipulating that “the person appointed to a job must be of Kuwaiti nationality. If there is none, preference is given to the children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis, then to the children of other Arab nationals.”
The CSC elaborated that based on the decree, the appointment of the children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis “is possible only if there is no Kuwaiti candidate for the job as stipulated in the relevant law.” It also clarified that the replacement policy in government agencies does not apply to the children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis. It added that the Central Employment System is an automated system for the registration of Kuwaiti job seekers only, while the appointment of the children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis is done in accordance with the contract system and the applicable regulations.
