KUWAIT CITY, Mar 24: Jazeera Airways announced the launch of a new supply corridor to Kuwait via Qaisumah Airport, successfully transporting its first shipment of 4.5 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables from Chennai.
CEO Barathan Pasupathi said the goods were flown to Saudi Arabia and then moved overland into Kuwait, ensuring the continued flow of perishable supplies despite current airspace and operational restrictions. He described the corridor as a key step in strengthening supply chains and maintaining essential imports during ongoing regional challenges.
Pasupathi added that the operation involved close coordination with aviation authorities, customs officials, and logistics partners across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and India, with strict scheduling to preserve product quality. He also expressed appreciation to government entities in both Kuwait and Saudi Arabia for facilitating the initiative.
