KUWAIT CITY, Mar 22: Jazeera Airways announced Sunday that it will resume commercial flights to and from Sohag via Qaisumah Airport, effective March 29. The move marks the airline’s sixth Egyptian destination served through Qaisumah, enhancing connectivity between Kuwait and Egypt.
CEO Barathan Pasupathi told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the resumption responds to growing travel demand, especially for family reunions and essential personal and work travel, noting that the Egyptian community is the largest among Arab expatriates in Kuwait.
Jazeera Airways has already transported over 8,500 passengers between Kuwait and Egypt via Qaisumah Airport, connecting six Egyptian cities: Alexandria, Cairo, Sphinx, Assiut, Luxor, and Sohag. Passengers complete check-in at the Mishref International Fairgrounds, Hall 8, and are then transferred by bus to Qaisumah Airport.
Barathan Pasupathi emphasized that expanding Egypt’s network of destinations reinforces Kuwait’s global connectivity, with the airline currently serving around 20 destinations through Qaisumah Airport. Passengers can book flights via the Jazeera Airways website or mobile app, with plans to gradually add more routes and services.
