Jazeera Airways Diverts Operations to Saudi Qaisumah Amid Kuwait Airspace Closure
Jazeera Airways

Kuwait City, 8 March 2026 – Jazeera Airways announced today it will relocate operations to Qaisumah Airport in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, Hafr Al-Batin, following approvals from Kuwaiti and Saudi authorities due to the temporary shutdown of Kuwaiti airspace.

CEO Details Emergency Measures
CEO Barathan Pasupathi told KUNA the move prioritizes travel for stranded Kuwaitis and residents. With Kuwait International Airport suspended, passengers can drive 2.5 hours to Qaisumah—arrivals continue by road into Kuwait, while departures head there first, requiring a valid Saudi visa.

Ground Transport and Safety Focus
Jazeera teams activated contingency plans amid regional tensions, aiming to reunite families safely. Bus partnerships are under consideration for non-drivers, with tickets booked separately. Basupathi thanked both governments for swift coordination.

Updates Incoming
Flight schedules, bookings, and arrangements will follow via official channels as the airline monitors developments closely. The shift addresses stragglers abroad and locals eager to depart.
