KUWAIT CITY, Sep 9: Jazeera Airways has announced a financial contribution of US$2 million to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund, supporting the country’s efforts to respond to the current regional crisis and assist affected communities. Alongside its financial contribution, Jazeera Airways had also placed its operational capabilities at the service of the Kuwaiti Government for carriage of Cargo.

During the temporary closure of the Kuwait International Airport earlier this year, Jazeera introduced Mission Barakah an initiative to keep Kuwait connected. Under Mission Barakah, the airline operated over 1,500 flights, 200,000 passengers and over 500 tonnes of cargo via Qaisumah and Damman. This included direct deployment of 14 aircraft, 500 team members and other resources to support the movement of citizens, essential personnel, humanitarian supplies and other critical goods, whenever required by the relevant authorities.

Flying from Kuwait for over two decades, Jazeera Airways has a strong record of supporting Kuwait during periods of national and regional crisis. The airline has previously mobilized its fleet, teams, airport infrastructure and logistics network to operate repatriation and humanitarian flights, transport essential supplies and maintain vital air connectivity under several challenging circumstances.

Marwan Boodai, Chairman of Jazeera Airways, said: “As a Kuwaiti company, Jazeera Airways is deeply proud of its roots and over 20 years of service to the country. Our responsibility to the State of Kuwait extends far beyond operating flights and connecting people and places. It means contributing to our country, standing alongside its leadership and people, and being ready to step forward whenever Kuwait needs us. Our contribution to the Kuwait Emergency Response Fund reflects our commitment. Equally important is what we contribute through our people and operational capabilities. We have made our aircraft, expertise and resources available to the Government of Kuwait to support the movement of people, humanitarian assistance and essential goods wherever they are needed.

“Time and again, our team has demonstrated exceptional resilience, professionalism and compassion in responding to challenging circumstances. As always, the entire Jazeera Airways family stands united with Kuwait, ready to play our part and support the national response in every way we can.”

Jazeera Airways expressed its sincere appreciation to Kuwait’s leadership, government authorities, emergency services and frontline personnel for their tireless efforts in safeguarding the country and supporting its people.

Jazeera Airways will continue supporting the national response in close coordination with the Government of Kuwait, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation and other relevant authorities to provide operational and humanitarian assistance as required.
