KUWAIT CITY, April 1: Jazeera Airways announced on Wednesday the launch of four new destinations in India—Calicut, Tiruchirappalli, Mangalore, and Kannur—via Dammam Airport in Saudi Arabia, with services beginning from April 8.
CEO Barathan Pasupathi said flights to Calicut will operate twice weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays starting April 8, while Tiruchirappalli services will run on Sundays and Tuesdays from April 7. Flights to Mangalore will operate on Mondays and Thursdays from April 9, and Kannur flights will begin on April 14, operating on Tuesdays and Fridays.
Barathan Pasupathinoted that since resuming operations to India on March 20, the airline has carried more than 11,000 passengers, adding that the expansion allows travellers—particularly from southern India—to fly closer to their home cities while supporting essential travel.
He said the new routes expand Jazeera Airways’ India network to 12 destinations, complementing existing services to Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram, and helping facilitate travel for the large Indian community in Kuwait.
The expansion is also expected to support workforce mobility, ensure continuity of key sectors, and maintain cargo and supply chain flows between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Qaiser Shaker, Chairman of the Indian Business and Professional Council in Kuwait, welcomed the move, saying it would enhance connectivity between Kuwait and India.
