JAY-Z’s first choice for Blue Ivy’s name revealed

LOS ANGELES, Oct 28, (Agencies): JAY-Z has decided to unravel one of the intriguing mysteries surrounding his relationship with Beyoncé – the origin of their daughter’s unique name, Blue Ivy.

In part two of his interview, the global icon at 53 years old revealed that their 11-year-old’s name was not derived from a color preference or a meticulously planned branding strategy, as some fans have speculated for years. Instead, the name had its roots in a sweet and personal moment during an early sonogram.

Originally, JAY-Z shared that they had intended to name their daughter Brooklyn, a name that held deep significance due to his strong connection to his hometown of New York City.

However, as the rapper explained, their initial plan evolved as the pregnancy progressed. “We were calling her Blueberry. Like, ‘Look at the little blueberry.’ You know, it was like a nickname,” he reminisced. “It just felt natural to us. We simply removed the ‘berry’ and named her Blue.”

Blue Ivy is the eldest daughter of JAY-Z and Beyoncé, followed by their 6-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir, completing their beautiful family.
