KUWAIT CITY, Nov 11: His Majesty Emperor Naruhito of Japan awarded Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah the “Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun” during an official ceremony held this morning in the Matsu-no-Ma State Room at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.

The Grand Cordon, the highest Japanese honor bestowed on non-Japanese nationals for more than 150 years, is granted by the Government of Japan in recognition of exceptional contributions, particularly in strengthening international relations.

During the ceremony, Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad held a cordial discussion with Emperor Naruhito, conveying the greetings of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. He reiterated Kuwait’s pride in its longstanding friendship with Japan and the Amir’s commitment to deepening cooperation across all sectors.

Emperor Naruhito, in turn, asked Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad to convey his warm regards and best wishes to His Highness the Amir, the Kuwaiti government, and the Kuwaiti people. He reaffirmed Japan’s dedication to advancing bilateral ties and expanding cooperation for the mutual benefit of both nations.
