Jamal Al-Lahu documents the journey of the pure-hearted person ‘Al-Aidrousi’

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 14, (Agencies): The National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters has exemplified its commitment to the arts and artists through the release of a 343-page book titled “The Mighty Artist Muhammad Jaber Al-Aidrousi 1961 – 2022.” This comprehensive work, prepared by Jamal Al-Lahou, the head of the Kuwait International Monodrama Festival, is available at the National Council for Culture and Arts Publications Center within the General Secretariat building.

The book, initiated with an introduction by the General Secretariat, emphasizes the fundamental role of community institutions in caring for artists. It acknowledges the ongoing efforts of the National Council in sponsoring artistic activities, organizing theatrical festivals, conducting seminars, and honoring distinguished artists, such as Muhammad Jaber Al-Aidrousi. The renowned artist, also known as Al-Aidrousi, has left an indelible mark on Kuwaiti and Gulf art, captivating audiences with his remarkable works.

The publication serves as a vast documentation of Al-Aidrousi’s prolific artistic career, spanning over 60 years. It includes never-before-seen pictures and artistic testimonials from major figures in the art world who shared the journey with him. From his entrance exam in 1961, guided by the “godfather of theater in Kuwait,” ZakiTulaimat, to his last work, the series “Al-Bushiya,” the book captures the evolution of this celebrated artist.

In a phone call with Al-Aidrousi, he commended the enjoyable efforts invested in compiling the book, expressing his involvement in its creation step by step. He wished success for the book’s launch during the festival.

The author, Jamal Al-Lahou, expressed gratitude to key figures who supported the book, including Dr. Muhammad Al-Jassar, the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts, and Letters, and Musaed Al-Zamil, the Assistant Secretary-General for the Arts Sector. Al-Lahou acknowledged contributions from Ahmed Al-Shatti, the head of the Arab Theater, and artists Fadel Al-Rais and Suhaila Al-Attiya, along with historian Faisal Bonacci and the book’s designer, RaoufYahya.

Al-Lahou shared that the book’s preparation began in 2019, guided by instructions from Muhammad Jaber Al-Aidrousi himself. He meticulously gathered information from libraries, the Arab Theater Archive, and various references, ensuring the book reflects the artistic stature of Al-Aidrousi. The release is a testament to Al-Aidrousi’s significant artistic milestones, featuring carefully selected photos from different stages of his illustrious career. Its index encompasses chapters that delve into

various aspects of his life and career, capturing the essence of this influential figure in Kuwaiti and Gulf art.

The book also presents Al-Aidrousi’s sayings and beliefs, providing insights into his philosophy on art and his dedication to its continual flow through his veins. It includes artistic certificates and testimonials from prominent figures in the industry, showcasing the profound impact of Al-Aidrousi’s contributions to the world of art.
