KUWAIT CITY, Oct 2: The Court of Cassation on Monday ruled to refrain from issuing punishment against a Kuwaiti captain and to imprison a Filipino expatriate for 3 years and 4 months in the case of smuggling alcohol on the yacht of a social media celebrity.
The Public Prosecution had ordered the exclusion of the owner of the seized yacht after the Filipino captain confessed to bringing the seized items.
It is noteworthy that the Criminal Court sentenced the Filipino captain to five years imprisonment with hard work and deportation from the country after serving the sentence and for the Kuwaiti captain to one-year imprisonment with hard work.
