KUWAIT CITY, June 18: Traffic officers arrested a citizen for driving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) on a public road and referred him to the traffic police station. This is part of the ongoing efforts of the General Traffic Department to apprehend drivers of ATVs on public roads and outside the specified areas. A security source informed the newspaper that traffic officers carry out their duties 24/7 to arrest reckless drivers and traffic law violators. In the most recent campaign, the officers tracked down a citizen driving an ATV on a public road, arrested him, and referred him to the traffic police station, while the vehicle was impounded. The source indicated that the fine for driving ATVs and motorcycles outside the designated areas is KD150. He added that if the case is referred to court, the penalty is imprisonment for one to three years and a fine of KD600 to KD1,000, or one of these penalties
