‘Disburse allowance to worker’

KUWAIT CITY, June 24: Two Kuwaiti men accused of joining the terrorist group ‘Al-Nusrah Front’ have been sentenced by the Misdemeanor Court to 10 years and 2 years imprisonment respectively with hard labor. The case file indicated the Public Prosecution Department charged the two men for their involvement in attacks against Syria, which is a friendly Arab nation. The duo allegedly joined al-Qaeda affiliate- Al-Nusrah Front, which trained them on the use of weapons — an act regarded as capable of putting Kuwait at the risk of war against the country and severing bilateral relations between the two countries.

‘Disburse allowance’: The Appellate Circuit of the Administration Court ordered Undersecretary of Ministry of Health to disburse housing allowance and subsequent financial differences to a female pharmacist effective from the date of her appointment even though her husband receives house allowance from his workplace. In a lawsuit filed by Lawyer Zayed Al-Khabbaz on behalf of the pharmacist, he explained his client was appointed in Ministry of Health in 2010 as a pharmacist. When the Civil Service Commission issued decision No. 10/2010 concerning amendments to allowances and bonuses for Kuwaiti pharmacists working in government bodies, the ministry did not disburse the two allowances to his client. This forced her to file the lawsuit. The court ruled that the available conditions are in favor of the complainant to receive the allowances, as the available records lack evidence that she and her husband own a house, possess a plot or took a housing loan as per the governmental housing scheme in this regard.
