KUWAIT CITY, March 27: The Criminal Court presided over by Judge Anwar Al-Enezi has sentenced a Kuwaiti citizen to five-year imprisonment with hard labor for allegedly joining and fighting on the side of the outlawed DAESH group in Syria.

The Public Prosecution had charged the citizen with fighting against Syria, joining DAESH, undergoing training on weapon handling, and possessing unlicensed weapons.

During investigations, he had denied all the allegations. He was arrested upon arrival at Kuwait International Airport from Turkey. Since he was injured and weak, he was taken to the Military Hospital for treatment under strict security protection.
